Director William P. “Bill” Curran
In June 1992, William P. “Bill” Curran joined the Sletten team as an Outside Director for Sletten, Inc.
Bill is a 1969 honors graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in political science. In 1972, Bill received his Juris Doctrine Degree from the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law.
After law school, Bill served two years as a law clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court. From 1975 through 1989, he was a member of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, ultimately serving for ten years as County Counsel where he supervised a staff of 22 attorneys and served as Chief Legal Counsel to the Clark County Commission, the Liquor and Gaming Licensing Board, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, McCarran International Airport, the University Medical Center, the Clark County Planning Commission, the Clark County Building Department, the Clark County Public Works Department, the Clark County Sanitation District, the Las Vegas Valley Water District and more than 50 other local governmental entities.
From 1989 to date, Bill has maintained a private law practice and is currently a partner in the firm of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll LLP with emphasis in administrative, government, gaming, real estate, construction and civil litigation.
Bill is a former chairman of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the Nevada Gaming Commission. He is the past president of the Nevada Bar Association. Throughout his career, Bill has served as a member of numerous public and charitable organizations including United Way of Southern Nevada, the National District Attorney’s Association and the National Association of Counties.
Bill was raised in Minnesota. He has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1974. He and his wife have two sons and a daughter.
Director N.E. “Tuck” Vosburg
In 1991, N.E. “Tuck” Vosburg became an outside member of the Board of Directors for Sletten Inc.
Tuck recently retired from Pacific Steel and Recycling in Great Falls, Montana where he held the positions President and CEO.
Pacific is a northwest regional firm doing business through a system of 37 branches in seven states. The company’s steel division includes steel, steel processing, hardware and farm products. It’s recycling division processes ferrous and nonferrous metals, fiber, hides and gameskins. Pacific’s origins date back to 1885 evolving into an employee-owned company with over 500 employees.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Tuck spent 13 years in banking with Norwest (now Wells Fargo). In 1978, he joined Pacific and was elected president and CEO in 1982.
He holds an undergraduate degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University and a Master Degree in finance from the University of Nebraska. He also is a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers and a Stanford Executive Program.
He and his wife Susan have three grown daughters.
Tuck also serves on the board of directors of Touch America Holdings, Inc. and the community board of Wells Fargo Bank, Great Falls. He is a past member of the board of directors of: the Federal Reserve Bank of Helena, the board of Montana Power Company, Northwestern Bank of Great Falls, Deaconess Hospital, Montana Chamber of Commerce, Great Falls Education Foundation, C.M. Russell Museum, Paris Gibson Square, the President’s Advisory Council, University of Montana, President’s Council, College of Great Falls and Montana Ambassadors.
Director Ambassador Michael J. Sullivan
In June 2002, Ambassador Michael J. Sullivan became an outside member of the Board of Directors for Sletten, Inc.
Michael J. Sullivan was elected Governor of Wyoming in 1986 in his first political race and was re-elected in 1990. He began his legal career as an associate attorney with the firm of Brown, Drew, Apostolos & Barton, which became Brown, Drew, Apostolos, Massey & Sullivan, where he practiced for 26 years, primarily in the areas of litigation and business.
In 1998, Governor Sullivan was appointed by President Clinton to serve as the United States Ambassador to Ireland and completed his service as Ambassador in June of 2001. Ambassador Sullivan currently serves as Special Counsel with Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP of Denver, Colorado. He opened the firm’s Casper office where he works regionally in the areas of mediation, arbitration, public policy, natural resources and developing international business relationships. Ambassador Sullivan is authorized to practice before the courts of Wyoming, the Federal District Court for the District of Wyoming, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Throughout his professional career, Ambassador Sullivan has maintained a high level of involvement in community affairs. He served as Chairman of the Natrona County Hospital Board, the Wyoming Board of Bar Examiners and the Western Governors’ Association. He co-chaired the Alliance for Acid Rain Control and chaired the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.
Additionally, Ambassador Sullivan served on the National Governors’ Association’s Executive Board, directing its Natural Resources Committee, School Years Action Team, and the Indian Gaming Working Group. Special honors include the Wyoming National Guard’s Distinguished Service Medal, the University of Wyoming Outstanding Alumnus Award, and the Wyoming Heritage Society’s Award of Merit.
Ambassador Sullivan received a B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering and a Juris Doctor of Law Degree with honors from the University of Wyoming. In 1996 he held a fellowship at the Institute of Politics, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He is married to the former Jane Metzler of Powell, Wyoming and has three children.
Director Vaughn “Skip” Corley
In June 2001, Vaughn “Skip” Corley became an outside member of the Board of Directors for Sletten, Inc.
Skip graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Arizona and has been a registered engineer in the State of Arizona since 1963. While in college, Skip was active in the SAE Fraternity, a quarterback on the football team and was class President. Following graduation, he served four years in the Air Force as a civil engineering officer.
Skip and his wife, Dawn have lived in Arizona for the past forty-two years. He recently retired from the Arizona-Portland Cement Company (APC) after forty years. APC is a part of the California-Portland Cement Company (CPC). Skip was general manager of APC from 1982 until his retirement and executive vice-president of CPC since 1990.
In the cement industry, Skip is a director of the Portland Cement Association, the American Portland Cement Alliance and the American Concrete Paving Association.
Some of Skip’s activities in Arizona consist of being a director of the M&I Thunderbird Bank since 1984, a director of the Goldwater Institute, and a member of the Phoenix Thunderbirds. He is also a member of the University of Arizona Business and Graduate School Advisory Board and past director of the U of A Alumni Board.
Skip and Dawn have three adult children who live in Phoenix. They enjoy family, golf, tennis, skiing and hiking.
Director General Lance W. Lord
In June 2006, General Lance W. Lord became an outside member of the Board of Directors for Sletten, Inc.
Retired General Lance W. Lord was Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson
Air Force Base, Colo. He was responsible for the development,
acquisition and operation of the Air Force's space and missile systems.
The General oversaw a global network of satellite command and control,
communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensured the
combat readiness of America's intercontinental ballistic missile force.
He directed more than 39,700 space professionals who provided combat
forces and capabilities to North American Aerospace Defense Command and
U.S. Strategic Command.
General Lord entered the Air Force in 1969 as a graduate of the
Otterbein College ROTC program. He completed a series of Air Staff and
Department of Defense-level assignments in strategic missiles after
serving four years of Minuteman II ICBM alert duty. He directed the
Ground-Launched Cruise Missile Program Management Office in Europe. He
was a Military Assistant to the Director of Net Assessment with the
Office of the Secretary of Defense and represented the Air Force as a
research associate in international security affairs at Ohio State
University.
General Lord commanded two ICBM wings in Wyoming and North Dakota. In
California he commanded a space wing responsible for satellite launch
and ballistic missile test launch operations. He served as Director of
Plans and as Vice Commander for Headquarters Air Force Space Command.
The general led Air Force education and training as Commandant of
Squadron Officer School, Commander of 2nd Air Force, Commander of Air
University and Director of Education for Air Education and Training
Command. Prior to assuming his current position, General Lord was the
Assistant Vice Chief of Staff for Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
